Julie was taking a picture of the very elusive Culicidae*, or something of the sort, we couldn't quite tell for sure. But, in the act of thoroughly investigating the photo we saw in the distance a very rare creature for Yellowstone habitat, the Bison.

through Yellowstone this year, with Julie's family. Here we are waiting for the Old Faithful geyser.

Wow - who knew you could think of a name like that for mosquito :) Good job! I like how incidently you got the rare bison in the background. Awesome!
Leave it to you to find the obscure name for mosquito :). Nice blog!!! I will keep looking for the updates. We need to take a trip to Yellowstone. When we do, I'll be sure to find out where to find such a unique mosquito.
